Super friendly service. My order was a Ken immediately and food came out quickly. Fries came out hot, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the outside and not overly greasy. They were delightful. Chicken club burger also hot, crisp on the outside, moist on the inside. My only issue was my chocolate shake wasn’t very chocolatey- but not a deal breaker by any means.
Awesome place to stop for food with a cool experience to go with it. Old car hop style where you pull in and turn your lights on to order. They come take your order and bring your food to your vehicle on a tray that clips to your window. The food was delicious and our server was friendly. The parking can get busy but they have picnic tables you can also choose to eat at, or take it to go.
Fun little place. Haven't been there in years. Very nostalgic. Food was great gotta have a J&L burger. Spicy poutine was good my only complain is more cheese curds! Will definitely be back!
Nostalgic and an experience in and of itself. Prices are good. Service prompt, friendly and efficient. The food was ready so quickly after ordering, and was delicious. I was hesitant about getting a veggie burger, but it turned out delicious. And the onion rings, prawns and poutine were well fried and seasoned. The strawberry milkshake was thick, creamy and delicious. Check it out if you're in the area!
Nothing better than a J&L lunch. Burger and spicy fries, chefs kiss. I can't wait to go back. My husband had his 1st meal here recently and enjoyed it fully. As it was his 1st time at a drive-in He ordered a foot long, reg fries and a milkshake. We will be making the trip back again soon. From north island. Amazing service as well. The ladies are so nice!!
Our second time back at this wonderful Drive In. We had two burgers, fries and a strawberry milkshake. Just perfect and the burgers are some of the best we have ever had. Wonderful service and always busy which can only be a great sign. Love it here so much.
We were passing through Port Alberni with no idea where to stop for a bite, and we stumbled upon J & L Drive-In. What a gem! This small drive-in was such a pleasant surprise. My husband had the chicken burger and said it might be the best he’s ever had... and that is a feat coming from him! I had the hot dog, grilled to perfection with the bun slightly toasted so it was warm but not dried out! Everything tasted fresh and delicious. The friendly service and charming vibe made the experience even better. If you’re in the area, don’t miss it!
My first drive in restaurant experience and it was great! Waitress was friendly and on the ball! Food came out fast and fresh! I highly recommend the chicken fingers and fries ! Hubby loved the Combo Burger which gives you a hotdog on your burger. And the apple turnover was a nice treat to round the meal off. Great place to pick up food on your way thru town as we were going. There was a picnic table to sit at if you want and the washroom was clean.
